Most of current mixing technologies have been developed for more than half a century.  They’ve been studied widely and extensively to understand the mechanism and to improve mixing system performance.  New research tools and study technologies, such as CFD, DPIV, LDA, etc. have fine tuned-up the design parameters, and helped to improve the mixing capacity to their extreme. However, still there are many difficult mixing problems and some of them seems virtually unsolvable (1).

What is the next generation mixing technology? It should apply new concept and fundamentally different mixing mechanism, have significant mixing efficiency and energy efficiency improvement, and lead to considerable capital, operation and maintenance benefits. This paper presents some key features of the new technology.
